Like you

I have not found another like you.
Another like you.
Another like you.
I have not found one with those soft lips and that bright smile.
No I have not found another like you.

No matter how many paths I take, how many I erase. I can not find you and I cannot forget you.
Your will.
Your desire; nothing stronger have I come across.
There is no other like you.

No, no other like you.

Patches

I will build you a poem
with these words that are not my own.
I will sew together strength
in every fiber of your being.
So you can see you, how I see you.

Life.

It is empowering to feel equal to life
To hold her reigns and guide her where you wish.
To mold her into that dream you left behind in days long gone.
Watching the days turn to nights
The sultry moons to bright suns

And you,

bursting with joy as if every particle of you
was a part of that suns brightness.
Awaiting the impending future- willing it to bring itself upon you
You with your power, you who believes you can do all.
It is empowering to feel equal to life
It is stupid to assume you own her.

Redemption

Knight in shining armour; I ordain thee
Could it be that you have come to save me?
Lift me from the ashes of my own hearts grave
Douse me in your fire; feed me from your flame
Clothe me with desire; claim me with your name

Knight in shining armour, why have you come?
Do I remind you of young summer love?
Kiss me with your soft soft lips
Grant me the feelings I have been void of

Knight in shining armour what have you done
I am falling into you with no direction
There are no footholds; no time for protection
Nothing to save me from rejection

Knight in shining armour; with you, every minute is gold.
Every second good
In your presence I have grown wings.
In your presence I have touched sun's warm rays.
Feels like this may go on forever; infinity has become my friend.
But alas! It is not so, as they say: nothing gold can stay.

Knight in shining armour
Wish I could take all the happiness in the world
and place it in your hand.

Apnea

I know I can't take one more step towards you
'Cause I know you won't be there.
But I still find myself running in the direction of your despair.
I've been asking all around if you were anywhere to be found.
I'm gasping and heaving, clutching at my throat
The last sound escapes
Submerged in ice; darkness covets me
I'm running towards you and the night follows, biting at my feet
Hands sweaty, lungs pierced with needles.
Just one more, once more and I'll be good.
Even if for a second, one gasp, one fill.
But nothing.

Abandoned,

Left for the night nurse's drill.

-The window to tomorrow is no longer a gaping hole-.

Out Of Reach

Didn't we almost have it all
Raindrops at our feet.
Staring at the sun, laying underneath the sheets.
Didn't we almost have everything we'd ever need.
Oh so easy it all seemed
So easy it all seemed

We walked on water. Flew on the wings of dreams.
Now I'm drowning on dry land; ripping apart at the seams
Desire is my favourite mistake
And so, with you, I was born again
Adrift and at peace. But
The fantasy turned from a whisper into a scream.

We tainted oblivion
An honest mistake
Then came the flood
I was all yours to take

Thanks for the memories
The scars and the souvenirs

*Inspired by the oh so epic titles of Greys Anatomy episodes.

I had to love you.

They told me, years ago, I had to love you.
Forced you on to me with no choice to be free
I wanted to fly in the wind but you stayed on the land.
When I wanted to swim in the ocean, you wanted dry sand.

Apparently loving you would be better for me.
Take me far, make life easy.
Hand in hand with you I strayed
My own reflection I wanted to make.

Not she who looked back from waters so thin, eyes set in
Not she with hair like burnt wood
You looked back at me from wherever I stood

They told me, years ago, I had to love you.
Through the journey of life, we grew
Years passed and I still hate you.

They told me, years ago, I had to love you.
Forced you on to me with no choice to be free
But when I did, I realized I was better for it.

We’re both on land, but we both fly.
Hand in hand, beat the high tide.

They told me years ago I had to love you
If I couldn’t love myself, then who would?
